JP Autoputevi Republika Srpska signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese company China Jiangxi Corporation for the implementation of the Vukosavlje-Brčko highway, part of the strategic corridor towards Serbia. The 2017 Memorandum defines preliminary activities towards specific contracts, without a binding character. The construction is foreseen by the Spatial Plan of the RS and requires the preparation of a Feasibility Study and other project documentation.

Highway E-661 Gradiška–Banja Luka, with a length of 34 km, put into traffic in 2011, is the first highway built in the Republic of Srpska, with the Mahovljani interchange as the key node. The project includes tunnels, bridges, viaducts, and toll stations, and the introduction of tolls has created new jobs for the local population. With the construction of a new bridge on the Sava near Gradiška, put into full operation in May 2026, a direct highway connection with the Republic of Croatia was established.

The Republika Srpska has signed the first concession agreement for the 42 km Banja Luka-Prijedor highway with the Chinese company China Shandong International, which will finance, design, and construct, while the RS will resolve property and legal issues on the route. The highway starts in Kuljani, connects to the future Banja Luka bypass, and ends at the Prijedor loop, with the planned Omarska loop. The concessionaire will design, build, and maintain the highway for the next 30 years from the completion.

JP "Autoputevi Republika Srpska" d.o.o. Banja Luka financed the development of the General Design for the expressway section in the eastern part of the Republic of Srpska, on the north-south corridor. Several alternative solutions were considered, and after a multifunctional analysis, a variant with a total length of approximately 160 km was selected.

For the expressway Sarajevo – Podromanija – Rogatica – Međeđa – Višegrad – Donje Vardište (border), activities are being carried out in cooperation with the European Commission to prepare project documentation. In March 2018, the Preliminary Design was submitted as part of the Preliminary Studies and Projects for the Construction of the Expressway on Route 3: Sarajevo – Vardište.

The Goražde – Foča – Gacko – Bileća – Trebinje project is located in the southeastern part of the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is part of the planned network of highways and expressways of the Republika Srpska. The expressway starts in the Ustiprača zone, where it connects to the planned Sarajevo – Vardište expressway, while the final point is located south of Trebinje, with a connection to the planned highway towards Montenegro.

In accordance with the obligations under the concession agreement, the Chinese concession partner Shandong, is obliged to develop a conceptual design for the Prijedor - Kozarska Dubica - Jasenovac expressway section, with a total length of approximately 45 km.
