Vukosavlje – Brčko – Bijeljina – Rača Motorway

The construction project of this motorway, with a total length of approximately 70 km, will enable better connectivity of the motorway network within Republika Srpska, including connections with the Republic of Serbia, as well as the development of local communities and the advancement of the local and regional economy, thereby giving the project equal importance both at the local level and at the level of Republika Srpska as a whole.

The area affected by the project mainly consists of sparsely populated areas within local municipalities, where the dominant economic activity is agricultural production. The construction of the west–east motorway section within the motorway network of Republika Srpska is planned in accordance with the valid Spatial Plan and other strategic documents, as a connection between Krajina in the west and Posavina in the east.

The starting point of the Project is in the Modriča area (Municipality of Vukosavlje), specifically as the planned bypass around Vukosavlje forming an integral part of Corridor Vc, while the endpoint is at the administrative border with the Republic of Serbia.

The common project elements for all sections are as follows:

  • Two carriageways separated by a median strip, each consisting of two traffic lanes with a width of 3.75 m and one emergency lane with a width of 2.50 m;
  • Design speed of 130 km/h.
