Gradiška – Banja Luka  (2nd phase)

Project details:
Generally, the new motorway passes through the plain land and, therefore, no major route related problems have been encountered. The most difficult technical issues to be considered are those related to hydrology. Thus, the accent was placed on the Study of proposed solutions to ensure proper functioning of the existing hydraulic network and avoid flooding.

Total length of this part of the motorway is 26,481.425 m with 2 intersections placed to connect the new motorway with the main road M14.1 and regional road P477. There are 5 main bridges on the alignment and 3 bridges on the secondary roads, 11 overpasses, 2 underpasses and 2 retaining walls. There are also several pipe and box culverts.

Geometric features of the cross-section are following:

  • Dual carriageway of 10,70 m each (21,40 m in total) includes:

 

two lanes of 3,75 m
escape lane 2,50 m
marginal strip at the inside edge 0,50 m
marginal strip at the outside edge 0,20 m
central reservation (median) 4,00 m
shoulders on both sides, each 1,50 m
  • TOTAL: 28,40 m

Consultancy Contract for the provision of design and supervision of works has been awarded to C. Lotti & Associati S.p.A. (lider) – IRD Engineering srl.

Lot 1.

This section was contracted with J.V. KONSTRUKTOR (Croatia) – INTEGRAL (Republic of Srpska)
The section begins at km 10+254 (Gradiška) and ends at km 20+500 including 1 bridge (Jurkovica) and 6 overpasses. The Interchange with the main road M14.1 is located at km 13+669. There is no cut at this section. The design also includes rehabilitation of 17 km of local roads along the motorway alignment.

Lot 2.

This section was contracted with J.V. KONSTRUKTOR (Croatia) – INTEGRAL (Republic of Srpska)
The section begins at km 20+500 and ends at km 30+000 including 5 bridges and 5 overpasses/underpasses. The interchange with the regional road R477 is located at km 21+623. There are two cuts at this section. The design also includes rehabilitation of 15 km of local roads along the motorway alignment.

Lot 3.

This section was contracted with the company VIDONI S.p.A. (Italy).
The section begins at km 30+000 and ends at km 36+736 including 2 bridges and 4 overpasses/underpasses. There are three cuts at this section. The design also includes rehabilitation of 12.3 km of local roads along the motorway alignment.

 

All of three Lot`s are in function since 31.November 2012.
